Inmate Bella is promised a shorter sentence if she drugs a prison officer named Rex, and when the needle fails, he overpowers her and tells her she belongs to him. In Rex's Law, that is only the surface: beneath the prison, a ring is selling inmates on a private livestream, and Bella is the next item. The Rex's Law ending brings it all down. The evidence reaches the Director of Corrections, Captain Voss is arrested for human trafficking, Bella's conviction is vacated and Rex is cleared, but he stays behind, and their goodbye leaves any future together open.
A failed needle and an old grudge
Episode 1 of this 16+ drama opens on a plan: a drug, a 20-minute window and a promise that Bella's sentence will be reduced if she completes her mission. The sedative does nothing to Rex. He overpowers her, orders her to her knees and forces her into a sexual act, telling her she is his now. In episode 2 he calls her his slave and says she might survive if she obeys.
The past catches up too. Nina says she and Bella were like sisters and her brother loved Bella like family, until Bella turned him in to the police for drugs. In episode 3 a fork goes missing at mealtime, Bella is blamed for hiding it, and she is sent to Mirror Hell, "the most terrifying place in this prison."
In episode 4 Rex tells her to go out into the hallway that night, and Bella refuses: "I'm not your slave!" She is beaten in Block C, where someone warns the attackers not to touch her face.
The secret auction and the Rex frame-up
Episode 5 shows why her face matters. Bella wakes in a place she doesn't recognize, on a private broadcast announcing a human trafficking auction, with herself as tonight's item. Her interrogators want her to say Rex ordered the escape and threaten to put her friend in her place. Bella spots a symbol she recognizes as Captain Voss's and leaves a mark behind, hoping someone will find it.
In episode 6, asked whether they are selling prisoners, one of the ring's organizers answers:
"No. We sell consequences. People pay more for innocence."
The ring also warns her that every camera "already remembers you differently." In episode 7 the blame lands on Rex: he is suspended and moved to temporary holding, with guards told to shoot if he resists.
In episode 9 Marcus, the insider who promised Nina a reduced sentence, sends her to Block C anyway: "Rewards are for assets who remain useful." Nina admits that Marcus told her to switch the stimulants and hide the fork, and that they used her brother to make her useful. An uneasy alliance with Rex forms around three conditions: no lies, no solo moves, no one gets left behind.
Getting the evidence out
Episode 10 is the auction itself, in a live room on the third floor, with Bella introduced as "tonight's merchandise." Her captors demand a sexual act on camera and threaten to pull out her fingernails if she refuses. In episode 11 Rex intervenes, and they escape through the prison; Nina is lost along the way.
In episode 13 Rex is handed the evidence of the prison's crimes and told to bring the place down. What he and Bella uncover in episode 14 is a whole network, in which Voss is just one piece. Rex goes alone to send the evidence in episode 15 and is caught; his captor calls him "my best creation and my biggest disappointment" and leaves him for dead. Bella finds him and gets him out through a maintenance hatch.
In episode 17 Rex, too hurt to keep up, tells her to leave him. Bella answers:
"I already lost you once. Not again."
Elena finds a signal and gets the files out, but the ring's men grab her. In episode 18 Rex is hit while shielding Bella in a firefight, just as Director Hale, the Director of Corrections, confirms the evidence has arrived and units are on the way.
Rex's Law ending explained: the raid and the goodbye
In short: In the Rex's Law ending, a federal response force arrests Captain Voss for human trafficking and conspiracy, and the livestream network is dismantled. Bella's conviction is vacated and she walks free. Rex is cleared and decorated but stays at the prison, and their final conversation leaves a future together open without showing it.
In episode 19 Voss mocks Rex for protecting Bella: "You think love makes you strong? It only makes you bleed." Then the Federal Correctional Response Force storms in. Rex, wounded, tells Bella he is hard to kill.
Bella learns why she was in prison at all. She and another inmate had already been marked for the auction by two VIP clients and were framed on drug charges to get them inside. An official tells them:
"You weren't criminals. You were inventory."
Their convictions are vacated and their records cleared. Rex tells Bella to run far away from all of it, and when she asks if that means leaving him there, he answers, "I was built for this. You weren't." He closes with: "Live free, Bella."
In episode 20 a news report says authorities have dismantled an interstate network trafficking prisoners through illegal livestreams. Every accusation against Rex is dismissed, and he is honored for courage, integrity and protecting those the system failed.
Bella is waiting outside. Rex tells her he is staying, because someone has to fix what they left behind, and admits he can't come with her after everything he has done to her. The Rex's Law ending stops there, on the words "I'll find you when I'm ready," and never shows whether they meet again.

Rex: all accusations dismissed, decorated, and staying at the prison.
