For three years, artist Claire has slept alone while her billionaire husband, Adrian, keeps to the guest room, and she suspects he still loves someone from his past. In Stolen Silks, she walks into his study with divorce papers and finds a journal entry admitting he took her nightgown. The Stolen Silks ending reveals there was never another woman: Adrian fell for Claire the snowy night she saved his life in a cabin, and he kept his distance because he believed she was afraid of him. Adrian kisses her without warning in episode 24, and the series ends mid-scene before Claire says what she will do with the divorce papers.
A journal left open on purpose
Claire narrates this 16+ drama herself. In episode 2 she explains that in three years of marriage, Adrian has never once touched her, and the only explanation she can find is another woman he could never forget. She walks into his study with the divorce papers in her bag and sees a black leather journal lying open. The entry says that "she" left her white silk nightgown in the bathroom, and he took it.
Claire had recently lost exactly that nightgown. In episode 4 she counts at least twenty items gone over three years, losses she had always blamed on her own carelessness. She never suspected Adrian, a man with every shirt buttoned to the top who looks, in her words, like "a piece of polished ice." She puts the divorce papers back in her bag and decides to test him.
That evening, in episode 5, Adrian comes home early with pearls for their third anniversary: she prepared divorce papers, he bought a gift.
Back home in episode 7, Claire leaves a pale gray silk nightgown on the hamper. Adrian asks to borrow her shower again, and after he says good night, the hamper is empty.
One room at her father's house
Next, the couple heads to her father's house for a few days. In episode 9 Claire admits Adrian has always been good to her: he never interfered with her painting or her exhibitions, and he helped carry the weight in the hardest years. But it all felt like duty, "like gratitude, not like love."
Her father has prepared only one room (episode 10). Claire texts Adrian one excuse after another, ending with a blunt "Sharing a bed is not convenient." In episode 11 he lies down beside her anyway and asks quietly whether she read the journal he left on his desk.
Claire denies it far too fast. In episode 12 Adrian says that was his mistake for not leaving it more obvious, takes her wrist and tells her that after three years she is still scared of him. In episode 13 he presses her hand to his stomach without asking; she pulls it back and asks if he is insane. Then she asks him straight out, and he admits it: the nightgown, the underwear, the stockings, all of it.
In episode 14 Adrian explains the journal: he had seen the divorce papers in his study, was afraid she would really leave, and left it where she would find it. When Claire can't find the word for him, Adrian supplies it himself, "A pervert?", and agrees.
Claire pushes back in episode 17, asking whether he wants her to go home right now and sign those divorce papers. Adrian lets go of her wrist, says he shouldn't have pushed her and spends the night in the armchair instead of the bed.
The debt Claire thought she was paying
The next morning, in episode 18, Adrian makes Claire's coffee exactly how she takes it, and her father asks whether they had a fight. He puts down his cup and speaks to his daughter:
"Claire, if you're not happy, don't force yourself, honey."
Her father remembers that Adrian helped the family, but tells her she doesn't have to use her marriage to repay that debt.
In episode 20, once her father steps out to check on the roses, Claire asks the question under the whole marriage: did Adrian marry her because he helped her family? Adrian answers:
"Helping your father was one thing. Marrying you was another."
Her father had just been through a crisis, Adrian explains, and if he had said he wanted her then, she would have thought he was taking advantage. In episode 21 he accounts for the coldness too. On their wedding night, he says, she looked at him like a stranger who had just signed a contract, and one step closer would have sent her running. Adrian puts it plainly:
"I'd rather you thought I was cold than feel like I was forcing you."
Claire calls the journal manipulation to his face. Adrian doesn't defend himself; he just says yes.
Stolen Silks ending explained: the night in the cabin
In short: In the Stolen Silks ending, Adrian tells Claire there was never another woman. He fell for her the snowy night she dragged him, shot and dying, into a cabin and kept him alive. He kisses her without warning in her father's kitchen, and the series stops mid-scene before Claire says whether the divorce is off.
In episode 23 Claire asks when it started. Adrian says he was being hunted and had been shot, and she pulled him into that cabin, pressed a towel to his wound and kept talking to him so he wouldn't pass out. Since that night he has thought about no one else. Adrian tells her:
"Claire, if there was a woman in my head all these years, it was you."
The memory floods back for Claire: heavy snow, a bleeding man lying in it, the abandoned cabin by the lake, the fireplace she lit. For three years she had been jealous of herself. In episode 24 she recognizes the scar on his face from the night she cleaned his wounds.
Claire tells him that if he was going to trap her in this marriage, he should at least have told her early on that it wasn't out of obligation. Adrian pins her against the counter and kisses her before she has time to react.
In episode 25 Claire admits she thought there was someone he actually wanted. "There wasn't," Adrian answers. Then he grabs her wrist and pulls her hand toward him again without asking; she jerks back and says his name, and the final episode cuts off mid-sentence with Claire unable to speak.
The Stolen Silks ending settles the mystery Claire has carried for three years, the woman she thought she was competing with, and leaves the rest to the viewer. The cabin story explains his three years of distance; it does not erase the stolen clothes, the planted journal or the touching without consent.
